What we do

Behaviour Specialists Saskatoon is a team of caring professionals who provide behavioural assessment and intervention services for children, youth, and adults with disabilities such as ADHD, Asperger's, Anxiety, Depression, and FASD. We work with individuals from aged 5 to adulthood. Using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles (based on evidence-based practice), we change the environment to guarantee success for the individual.


We promote inclusion, socialization, and independence.

Our Team


Cass

 

Lead Facilitator

Cassandra Phillips, BA, MA, PhD has completed coursework in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) through FIT (Florida Instituted of Technology), as well as advanced training in ABA as a Clinical Supervisor through the University of New Brunswick (Autism Intervention Program).

 

She is owner/operator of Behaviour Specialists, Saskatoon where she works with children and teens with ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, and other disabilities. In group settings, Cass uses ABA principles, such as incidental teaching, to help the children identify and change behaviour while also learning new skills. 

​

She has worked on contract with various organizations, such as the City of Saskatoon, Indigenous groups, and Early Childhood Centres to deliver workshops across the province on disability awareness, understanding behaviour, addressing challenging behaviour, the power of play, and positive parenting. 

 

As the only Lego-trained therapist in Saskatchewan, for more than a decade, Cass has pioneered Lego Social Skills Development groups for children ages 6-14 years.

 

Her teen groups not only build individual skills, but also contribute to the community in meaningful ways. 

 

Aside from her practice, Cass has also taught  Early Childhood Education in Saskatoon, led national non-profit disability organizations, and volunteered in areas of disability word-wide.

She has numerous accolades, including nomination for YWCA Women of Distinction. 

 

Marsha

For over twenty years, Marsha has been sharing the healing power of art with children, teens, and adults of all abilities.   

​

Marsha is involved in the arts community in Saskatoon through her business: The Works of Art Studio. She is contracted by various organizations to provide art services. She created art programs for the SMA, Summer Music Camp at Howard Coad, the Silver Springs SAGE program, The Saskatchewan Intercultural Association, The Gabriel Dumont Institute, The U of S, Creative Kids, and the SaskSport Inc. DreamBroker Program. Marsha was also an Art Leader with S.C.Y.A.P, the Saskatoon Community Youth Arts Program, where she spearheaded an art program for inner city youth called “Art Epic”.

Beyond the community, Marsha is known for envisioning and creating art programs that connect to the Saskatchewan Visual Arts Curriculum. Working as an On-Line Art Specialist for Flex-Ed, she designed a new form of art programming delivered in a virtual classroom. She was also the Art Specialist for the Calgary Waldorf School and various Montessori Schools in Saskatoon.

 

She holds an Early Childhood Educator Level 1 Certificate from SaskPolyTech, an Early Childhood Montessori Assistant Certificate from the Loyola University of Maryland and has her Mental Health First Aid Certificate from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
